Prof. Benedict Okechukwu Oramah, CON, is the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank), a leading Pan-African multilateral financial institution driving trade finance, development, and investment across the continent. With over three decades of experience in development banking, trade finance, and policy formulation, he is a globally respected voice in African economic transformation.
Under his leadership, Afreximbank has expanded its portfolio to include innovative financing instruments, strategic partnerships, and infrastructure investments that foster intra-African trade and industrialization. Prof. Oramah has been instrumental in launching landmark initiatives such as the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) and the African Trade Exchange.
